I’m just like you. I get it. I know the feeling when you want to scream and cry, and pull your hair out. I know how exhaustion and sleep deprivation can impact health and put stress on relationships. I love helping families get the sleep they need to function and focus on the other important things in life!

Sleep Training Works!

Through my coaching, at the most basic level parents learn:

  • How to create and execute an age-appropriate daytime/nap schedule.

  • How to speak baby! Crying is how kids communicate and deciphering what the cries are saying means parents can be at their best to know how to help and react to a child.

  • How to eliminate negative sleep associations (being rocked, fed, or held to sleep).

  • How to teach your child how to fall asleep and back to sleep independently using safe and effective methods (other than CIO).

  • How to address middle of the night wakings, short naps, and early morning wakeups.

  • How to keep your toddler from leaving their bed or coming up with all of those endless bedtime excuses.

  • How to make bedtime a peaceful process!

  • and more!

I love working with parents just like you.

Sleep is critical to your sanity. When we teach your little one healthy sleep habits, everyone gets quality sleep allowing you to be the best parent you can be, love your time with your kids, and enjoy life together as a family.

As a mom of a toddler, I get the exhaustion, the frustration, and helpless feelings we get when our kid Just. Won’t. Stop. Crying! You feel like you've tried everything yet nothing seems to work. While you can Google sleep training, what you won't find online is 1:1 expert support that provides accountability and guidance, or that is customized and tailored just to your child's age and temperament, and to your family dynamics and parenting style. Trust me, that personalized support cannot be found any podcast, blog, book, magazine, or Facebook mom's group.

I can help you create healthy sleep habits that not only fix the sleep situation as it is today, but set you up for success for the long term.  My custom sleep plan and coaching program gives you step-by-step guidance so you can implement the program with success. You will see progress with your kids’ sleep habits.

Your child WANTS TO SLEEP and with my help, we can teach them how to fall asleep and back to sleep without your help or need to be present.

Sleep Tight Tonight's very own

5 STEPS (The 5 C's) To Success

1. COMFORTABLE: Choose a method that best fits your family dynamic, values, is age-appropriate, and that you can stand behind. My goal is to set parents up for success by providing 2-3 methods to choose from so parents can find one they connect with.

2. CALM: Kids feed off of and read their parent’s energy, attitude, and anxieties. Being calm limits power struggles. For example, when your daughter is crying, and you get frustrated and lose your patience, she feels that emotion and will get more worked up.

3. CONFIDENT: Being confident in yourself and the plan increases your ability to stick to it. When you know you are doing this FOR your child, not TO your child, and you can remind yourself that you are doing what is best for your child, it is easier to handle the challenging moments of sleep training.

4. CONSISTENT: Kids need routine, schedules, and predictability. Being consistent increases their trust in you and allows them the opportunity to TRY to fall asleep independently. For example, when kids are told they can’t sleep in your bed, but then the next night we give in, kids don’t understand why it is okay sometimes and not others so they’ll continue to get in your bed and nothing changes. Being consistent teaches boundaries and expectations.

5. COMMITMENT: When parents commit to the sleep plan and sleep training, they see progress. It’s that important! Any deviation from the schedule and plan, delays and derails success. For example: If you’re doing Check & Console Method with your son and you cave to the sound of his cries and go in his room before the timer is up, you have interrupted his opportunity to try to fall asleep independently. This will disrupt the trying, undo your hard work, and will teach your child to cry to get your attention. When parents commit to the process, they allow the child to learn the new skill of falling asleep independently and they see success!

When parents stick to my 5 C's they see progress!

My 2-week program will get you and your child sleeping with better habits and improve your relationship with your child. When you sleep, you empower yourself with the capability to be the best version of yourself and the best parent you can be.

So, why did I become a sleep consultant?

After exploring various corporate careers, I always felt the passion was missing. I didn’t wake up inspired. It took me having my own daughter in summer 2020 to find my calling and realize that I could combine my passions of making a difference, helping others, and my love for children!  I read and did everything I could to learn how to get her to sleep through the night.  As a first-time mom, I found my purpose both personally as a mom, and professionally as a certified sleep consultant and author.

My daughter was born with ALCAPA, a rare congenital heart defect (CHD) that required two open heart surgeries before she was 3 months old. There were many sleepless nights worrying that any sound she made could be her chest in pain. Let me tell you, when she started sleeping better, it was so much better for our physical and mental health! Seeing the success I had with my own daughter, close friends and then friends of friends began asking me to help them. I realized I wanted to continue to support more parents!

Get to know Caryn a bit more...

I've always been drawn to working with children and helping others has always been a driving force for me. As young as elementary school, I led the Kindergarten After School Program. My childhood jobs were always babysitting or being a camp counselor. In high school, I mentored peers who had muscular dystrophy and only communicated through a computer on their wheelchairs. After school, I tutored at-risk kids from the inner city of Chicago. Then after college, I created an organization whose mission was to use social media to positively impact other’s lives.

My lifelong passion for making a difference and my love for travel and children brought me to pursue my dream of teaching and going on safari in Tanzania, East Africa in fall of 2012.  I spent time volunteering with Cross Cultural Solutions. While teaching kids ages 3 to 7, I suggested splitting the classrooms to group by age range (3-5;6-7) rather than being all in one classroom for a better learning environment. This simple change has had a lasting impact on their education, even to this day. Volunteering in Tanzania was one of the greatest pleasures and honors of my life and can’t wait to return someday.

While in Tanzania, I summited “The Roof of Africa” known as Mount Kilimanjaro. One of the best pieces of advice I received was, “Walk like the elephants. Keep your head down and just put one foot in front of the other. Focus on your steps and not the mountain and before you know it, you’ll reach your goal.” While the mountain was literal at the time, it’s also solid life and sleep training advice. When we think of sleep training as the mountain, it seems so unachievable at the start. But, when we take one step and one day at a time, stay focused and committed, before you know it, you have reached your the goal (mountain)!

My goal is to funnel my expertise and passions into helping my families be able to have peaceful, easy bedtimes so everyone can Sleep Tight Tonight!

Some Random Facts About Me:

  1. My daughter inspired me to become an author and to write My Scar is Beautiful.

  2. I ran in the Chicago Half Marathon; also, how I found out I have Type 1 Diabetes – diagnosed age 27

  3. I'm no stranger to difficult situations and pushing myself outside my comfort zone. In 2011, I spent a weekend in Vegas with 50 other bloggers whom I had never met before; in 2012 I went to Africa, again, not knowing anyone and climbed a mountain with zero climbing experience; in 2013 I moved across country without a job and on whim that I needed change and new experiences outside of my hometown; and in 2020, I conquered my fear of childbirth when my daughter was born. (All that to say that I can handle whatever difficult situation you’re facing and will do whatever it takes to help you find success, even if it is outside my comfort zone! I don't give up!)

  4. While volunteering in Tanzania, I successfully climbed and summited Mount Kilimanjaro

  5. I love my family, games, antique cars, asking questions, making lists, nature walks, outdoor breweries and wineries, sunshine, and the ocean.

  6. I dream of starting my own charity and traveling the world

  7. Every night the last thing I tell my daughter is, “Sleep Tight, Sleep Late, Sweet Dreams. I love you.” And that’s where Sleep Tight Tonight was born and where my sleep package names came from!
